- ago which means I can not eat anything that contains gluten or even use shampoos or creams that have wheat protein. My first knowledge of a ‘Gluten Free Diet’ was almost eight years ago when I was working with young children with Autism many of whom were on a gluten and casein free diet. ‘Oh it’s only a biscuit nothing terrible is going to happen’. Well Karma caught up with me and ‘It’s only a biscuit’ leads to abdominal discomfort, bloating, dark circles under the eyes, joint pain and depression. If you are a little one with Autism that will definitely be a setting event which will affect how you do that day in therapy. Did my life change? Yes absolutely and for the better.
