November is a Time to be Grateful

grateful-applesIt’s been a busy few months with lots of fun travel working with amazing educators around the world and some very special children. I have been to Denmark, Cairo, Riyadh and New York in the last three months.

November is one of my favorite months. I love the changing colors of the Fall and going on crisp forest walks. Apple Picking is one of my favorite actives to do with the children. It can be a fun family outing for all children. Remember to prepare your children before they go for what’s to be expected and take lots of pictures as that’s the best way to look back on fun social experiences and develop those shared memories.

And, of course, November is a month when we are reminded to be grateful for all the wonderful things in our life. Gratitude is a great practice to model for children. Before bed, taking a few moments to find things they are grateful for can be a lovely addition to the bed time routine. Remember for children who have difficulty talking they can find an object in the room or they can show you a picture.

Dr. Rhea Paul and I have just finished a series of podcasts for parents of Super Special Kids, Let’s Talk: Super Special Kids and Cake, where we share advice, answer questions and review our favorite cakes! I would love to know if you have any questions or topics you’d like to hear us discuss here. Simply contact me and let me know!

Once again, I am so grateful to everyone who has supported me and inspired me. As you get ready for the holiday season I hope you find times to stop, catch your breath and enjoy the Fall delights.
